Slow Cooker Cheesy Mozzarella Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 1 cup marinara or pasta sauce

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Optional add-ins:

  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes for a kick

Instructions:

  1. Season the Chicken:
Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the chicken breasts.

  2. Layer in the Slow Cooker:
Place the chicken in the slow cooker. Pour marinara sauce over the top. If using mushrooms or onions, layer them in now.

  3. Cook:
Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender and cooked through.

  1. Add Cheese:
Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the chicken. Cover and cook for another 10–15 minutes or until cheese is melted and gooey.

  2. Serve:
Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Great served over pasta, rice, or with garlic bread!

Note:
Feel free to switch up the cheese! πŸ§€ Try provolone or a blend of Italian cheeses for extra flavor. You can also add veggies like spinach or bell peppers for a heartier dish. πŸƒπŸŒΆοΈ
