Easy Made Italian Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • ½ lb (225g) ground Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (Italian-style preferred)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup marinara sauce (plus extra for topping)
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Beat the egg and mix it into the meat mixture along with ½ cup of marinara sauce. Mix everything well but don’t overwork it.

  1. Shape the Meatloaf: Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in the prepared loaf pan.

  2. Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 40 minutes.

  3. Add Topping: Remove from the oven and spread extra marinara sauce over the top. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over it.

  4. Final Bake: Return to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  5. Rest & Serve: Let the meatloaf rest for 6-11 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side.

Pair with garlic bread, roasted vegetables, or a simple Caesar salad for a complete Italian-style meal!
