Mississippi Mud Potatoes is a rich and flavorful dish that combines potatoes with cheese, bacon, and a creamy sauce. Here’s a recipe to make it:

Ingredients:

– 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
– 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
– 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
– 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
– 1/2 cup chopped green onions
– 1 cup sour cream
– 1/2 cup mayonnaise
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Use butter or nonstick cooking spray to grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.

2. In a large bowl, mix together the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

3. Add the sliced potatoes, crumbled bacon, shredded Cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, and chopped green onions to the bowl. Stir until everything is evenly coated with the sour cream mixture.

4. Transfer the potato mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

5. Bake the baking dish for 45 minutes in a preheated oven covered with aluminum foil.

6.Remove the foil from the oven dish after 45 minutes, and bake for a further 15 to 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft and the top is brown.
