Cheesy Tortellini Casserole

Here’s a tasty recipe for Cheesy Tortellini Casserole:

– 1 lb (450g) refrigerated cheese tortellini
– 2 cups marinara sauce
– 1 cup ricotta cheese
– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
– 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1 teaspoon dried basil
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). A 9 x 13-inch baking dish should be greased with butter or cooking spray.

2. Cook the tortellini according to the package instructions until they are al dente. Drain well.

3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked tortellini and marinara sauce. Toss until the tortellini are evenly coated.

4. In another bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

5. Spread half of the tortellini and marinara mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.

6. Spoon the ricotta cheese mixture over the tortellini layer and spread it out evenly.

7. Top the ricotta cheese layer with the remaining tortellini and marinara mixture.

8. Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the casserole.

9. Bake the baking dish for 20 minutes in a preheated oven covered with aluminum foil.
10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.

11. Once done, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.

12. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired, before serving.
