Slow Cooker 6-Ingredient Teriyaki Chicken Thighs

Slow Cooker 6-Ingredient Teriyaki Chicken Thighs

There’s something comforting about walking into the house after a long day and being greeted by the sweet and savory aroma of teriyaki drifting through the air. It reminds me of those busy weekdays when time felt short, but we still wanted something warm and homemade on the table. Instead of ordering takeout from places like Panda Express, I started making this simple slow cooker teriyaki chicken — and honestly, it became even better than takeout.

The beauty of this recipe is how effortless it is. Just six ingredients, a few minutes of prep in the morning, and by dinner time you have tender, juicy chicken thighs coated in a rich, sticky teriyaki glaze. Serve it over rice, spoon extra sauce on top, and dinner is done. It’s perfect for busy families, meal prep, or even breakfast-for-supper nights when you want something different but still comforting.

🛒 Ingredients (6 Ingredients)

  • 6–8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs

  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce

  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Place the chicken thighs in the slow cooker in a single layer.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger.

  3. Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken.

  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.

  5. (Optional) Remove chicken and simmer sauce on HIGH for 10–15 minutes to thicken slightly.

  6. Return chicken to the sauce and spoon over before serving.

🍚 Serving Ideas

  • Serve over steamed white or jasmine rice

  • Add steamed broccoli or green beans on the side

  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds or sliced green onions

  • Shred the chicken for teriyaki sandwiches or wraps

📝 Note

If you like a thicker, stickier sauce, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water and stir it into the sauce during the last 20 minutes of cooking.

Simple ingredients, big flavor, and almost no effort — this is one of those slow cooker recipes you’ll make again and again. 💛
