Slow Cooker Steak Bites with Soy Sauce

Slow Cooker Steak Bites with Soy Sauce

Sometimes the best meals are the ones that feel indulgent but are surprisingly easy to make. I remember the first time I tried slow-cooked steak bites at home—I wanted something rich and flavorful but didn’t want to spend hours at the stove. The result? Tender, juicy pieces of steak infused with savory soy sauce that practically melt in your mouth.

This Slow Cooker Steak Bites with Soy Sauce recipe is perfect for busy weeknights or lazy weekends. With minimal prep, your slow cooker does all the work, turning simple ingredients into a meal that tastes like it came from a fancy restaurant. Serve it over rice, noodles, or even roasted vegetables for a complete dinner your whole family will love.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs (680 g) beef sirloin or tenderloin, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for browning)

  • Chopped green onions or sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Optional – Brown the Steak:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Quickly sear steak bites for 1–2 minutes per side for extra flavor. (This step can be skipped if short on time.)

  2. Add Ingredients to Slow Cooker:
Place steak bites in the slow cooker. Add soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, black pepper, and onion powder. Stir to coat the steak evenly.

  3. Cook:
Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or on high for 2–3 hours, until steak is tender.

  4. Serve:
Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired. Serve over rice, noodles, or with roasted vegetables.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon cold water and stir into the slow cooker 15 minutes before serving.

  • Swap sirloin for flank or ribeye for richer flavor.

  • Add sliced mushrooms or bell peppers for extra veggies.
