Apple Fritter Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and chopped
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 teaspoons milk

Instructions:

Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan and set aside.
  • Cinnamon Mixture: In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon together. Set aside.

Prepare Apples:

  • Toss the chopped apples with a little bit of the cinnamon mixture. Set aside.

Bread Batter:

  • In a large bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate dish, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
  • Gradually incorporate the flour combination into the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and finishing with the flour mixture.

Assemble Bread:

  • Pour half of the bread batter into the loaf pan.
  • Layer half of the apples on top, followed by half of the brown sugar-cinnamon mixture.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon mixture.
  • Use a knife to swirl through the batter gently.

Bake: Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with milk to form a smooth glaze. Once the bread has cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top.
