Chicken Alfredo Penne Bake is a delicious and comforting dish. Here’s a simple recipe for you:
1 pound (about 450g) penne pasta
2 cups cooked and shredded chicken breast
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the Pasta: Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until it’s just al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Chicken: If you haven’t done so already, cook and shred the chicken breasts. You can season them with salt and pepper for added flavor.
Make the Alfredo Sauce: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, but be careful not to let it brown. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring continuously. Once it starts to simmer, add the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat and let it simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, shredded chicken, and half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Pour the Alfredo sauce over the mixture and toss until everything is well coated.
Assemble the Bake: Transfer the pasta and chicken mixture to a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the top.
Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the top is golden brown.
Garnish and Serve: Remove the Chicken Alfredo Penne Bake from the oven. If desired, garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and added flavor. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.
