5-Ingredient Slow Cooker French Onion Chicken

5-Ingredient Slow Cooker French Onion Chicken

Some days call for recipes that feel a little special but don’t ask much from you. This is one of those meals—the kind you throw together in the morning, then let quietly cook while the day unfolds. It reminds me of evenings when the kitchen smelled rich and savory long before dinner, and everyone kept wandering in to ask, “What smells so good?”

French onion flavors have a way of doing that. As the chicken slow cooks, it soaks up all that deep, comforting onion goodness, turning unbelievably tender. By the time you lift the lid, the sauce is silky, the chicken practically falls apart, and dinner feels like it took way more effort than it actually did. It’s cozy, satisfying, and perfect for busy days when you still want something warm and homemade on the table.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
