5-Ingredient Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff (with Stew Meat)

There’s just something about beef stroganoff that feels like the ultimate comfort meal. Creamy, rich, hearty, and served over a big bowl of warm noodles… it’s the kind of dinner that instantly makes everything feel a little more cozy.

This is one of those classic recipes that reminds people of home cooking — the kind of meal you might remember from childhood, when supper was filling, simple, and always served with love. The flavors are deep and savory, the sauce is smooth and creamy, and every bite feels like pure comfort.

What I love most about this slow cooker version is how unbelievably easy it is.

Traditional beef stroganoff can take a lot of steps — browning meat, making a sauce from scratch, standing at the stove, and watching everything carefully. But with this recipe, you can get that same comforting flavor with only 5 ingredients and almost no effort at all.

Just toss the stew meat into the slow cooker, stir together the creamy mushroom sauce, and let it cook low and slow until the beef becomes melt-in-your-mouth tender. By the time dinner rolls around, your kitchen smells amazing, the sauce is rich and ready, and all that’s left to do is stir in the sour cream for that classic creamy finish.

It’s perfect for busy weekdays, chilly evenings, or anytime you want a meal that feels special without spending hours in the kitchen. Serve it over egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice, and you’ve got a supper that the whole family will happily dig into.

This slow cooker beef stroganoff is one of those recipes you’ll come back to again and again — simple, satisfying, and full of that old-fashioned comfort-food goodness.
