It all started on a lazy Sunday evening when I had leftover ground beef, a half bottle of honey BBQ sauce, and a deep craving for something bold, sweet, and smoky. I tossed in a little garlic butter magic—because let’s be honest, garlic butter makes everything better—and these tacos were born. They’re sweet, sticky, savory, and buttery, all wrapped up in a warm tortilla. One bite, and I knew this would become a weeknight staple.
🧄🧈 Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
2 tbsp butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup honey BBQ sauce
1 tbsp honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
Salt & pepper, to taste
1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional for smoky flavor)
1/4 tsp chili flakes (optional for heat)
Soft taco shells or tortillas
Toppings (suggested):
Shredded cheddar or pepper jack cheese
Coleslaw mix or shredded lettuce
Diced red onion
Fresh cilantro
Lime wedges
👩🍳 Instructions:
Brown the Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.Make Garlic Butter:
In the same skillet, push the beef to one side. Add butter and minced garlic. Let it sizzle until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
Sauce it Up:
Mix the garlic butter into the beef. Add honey BBQ sauce, honey (if using), smoked paprika, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened and saucy.Warm the Tortillas:
Warm taco shells in a dry skillet or microwave.Assemble:
Spoon beef into tacos and top with cheese, coleslaw, onions, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime.
❤️ Notes:
You can use shredded beef or leftover steak instead of ground beef.
Add sliced jalapeños for extra kick.
Want it creamy? Drizzle with ranch or chipotle mayo.
