Leftover Turkey Stuffing Balls

Leftover Turkey Stuffing Balls are a great way to repurpose Thanksgiving or holiday leftovers. These bite-sized, savory snacks are easy to prepare and can be served as appetizers or snacks. Here’s how to make them:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups leftover turkey (shredded or chopped)
  • 2 cups leftover stuffing
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (optional, for dipping)
  • 1/2 cup gravy (optional, for dipping)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional, cheddar or mozzarella work well)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for coating)
  • Cooking spray or oil for frying/baking

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven or Prepare for Frying:
    • If baking, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • If frying, heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Mix the Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, combine the shredded turkey, stuffing, egg, shredded cheese (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
    • Mix everything together until the ingredients are well combined and can be easily shaped.
  3. Form the Balls:
    • Using your hands or a spoon, form the mixture into small balls, about 1.5-2 inches in diameter.
    • If you want a crispy exterior, roll the balls in breadcrumbs to coat them evenly.

  1. Cooking Options:
    • Baking: Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray them with cooking spray to help them crisp up. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown, turning them halfway through cooking.
    • Frying: Fry the turkey stuffing balls in the hot oil for about 2-3 minutes per side or until they are crispy and golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  1. Serve:
    • Serve warm with cranberry sauce or gravy on the side for dipping.

Tips:

  • You can also add chopped vegetables like carrots, celery, or onions to the mixture for extra flavor and texture.
  • If the mixture is too dry, you can add a tablespoon or two of gravy to help bind it together.
