For the Beef:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix (or make your own with chili powder, cumin, paprika, and garlic powder)
  • 1/2 cup water

For the Nachos:

  • 1 bag of tortilla chips (about 10-12 ounces)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese blend
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup pickled jalapeño slices (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion

  • Sour cream and guacamole for garnish

  • Prepare the Beef:
    • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until it’s browned and no longer pink.
      • Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
