Ingredients:
4–5 lb pork shoulder (also called pork butt)
1 tablespoon Hawaiian sea salt (or kosher salt)
1 tablespoon liquid smoke (hickory or mesquite)
Optional: 1/2 cup water or chicken broth (for added moisture)
Instructions:
Prep the Pork: Pierce the pork shoulder all over with a fork.
Season: Rub the salt and liquid smoke all over the meat.
Slow Cook: Place the pork in the slow cooker. Add the optional water/broth if using. Cover and cook on low for 8–10 hours, or until the meat is fall-apart tender.
Shred & Serve: Remove the pork and shred it using two forks. Return it to the slow cooker to soak in the juices before serving.
