Crispy Breaded Mushrooms

Crispy Breaded Mushrooms

Looking for a crowd-pleasing snack or appetizer? These Crispy Breaded Mushrooms are crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and totally addictive. Whether you’re hosting a party or just craving something savory, this easy recipe delivers golden bites of goodness that pair perfectly with your favorite dipping sauce!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh mushrooms (button or cremini)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (extra crunchy!)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • Olive or vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. Clean the Mushrooms:
Gently wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth. Remove the stems if you like, or leave them whole.

  2. Set Up Your Breading Station:

  • Bowl 1: Flour

  • Bowl 2: Beaten eggs

  • Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs + garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt & pepper

  1. Bread the Mushrooms:

  • Roll each mushroom in the flour.

  • Dip into the egg mixture.

  • Coat with the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing gently so it sticks.

  1. Fry Until Golden:
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. When hot (a breadcrumb should sizzle), fry mushrooms in batches for 2–3 minutes per side or until crispy and golden brown.

  2. Drain & Serve:
Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce — ranch, garlic aioli, or marinara are perfect!

Note:
For extra flavor, try adding grated Parmesan cheese to the breadcrumb mix. You can also swap out the spices to match your taste — smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, or a pinch of cayenne all work great! Want a healthier version? These mushrooms can be baked or air-fried instead of fried.
