Crockpot Mississippi Chicken

Crockpot Mississippi Chicken is a delicious, easy-to-make dish with a rich, tangy, and slightly spicy flavor. It’s perfect for busy days since the slow cooker does all the work! Here’s how to prepare it:

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs for extra juiciness)
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 packet au jus gravy mix (or brown gravy mix)
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick)
  • 6-8 pepperoncini peppers (whole or sliced)
  • ¼ cup pepperoncini juice (optional, for extra tang)
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your crockpot.

  2. Add Seasoning:
Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix and the au jus gravy mix evenly over the chicken.

  3. Top with Butter & Peppers:
Cut the butter into slices and place it on top of the chicken.
Add the pepperoncini peppers and pour in a little of the pepperoncini juice for extra tangy flavor.

  1. Cook:

    • Cover and cook on LOW for 7-9 hours or HIGH for 3 hours.
    • The chicken should be tender and easy to shred.
  2. Shred & Serve:
Use two forks to shred the chicken in the crockpot, mixing it with the juices.
Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or on sandwich buns.

Tips & Variations:

  • Add a splash of chicken broth if you want more sauce.
  • For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes or a few slices of jalapeños.
  • Substitute the butter with cream cheese for a creamier version.
