Chicken Wing Boil

Chicken Wing Boil

If you love a good seafood boil but want something a little different (and budget-friendly), this Chicken Wing Boil is a must-try! Packed with tender, juicy wings, smoky sausage, corn, and potatoes, all simmered in bold Cajun-style spices, it’s a flavorful, comforting one-pot meal that’s perfect for family gatherings, cookouts, or game day. Drizzle it with buttery seasoning sauce and dig in—no seafood required!

Ingredients:

  • 2–3 lbs chicken wings (whole or split)

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced

  • 4–6 small red potatoes, halved

  • 3–4 ears corn, cut into halves or thirds

  • 1 onion, quartered

  • 1 lemon, halved

  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter

  • 1–2 tbsp Old Bay seasoning (or Cajun seasoning)

  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • Optional: crab boil seasoning (like Zatarain’s) for extra kick

Optional Add-ins:

  • Boiled eggs

  • Shrimp (add in the last 5 minutes)

  • Green beans

Instructions:

  1. Season the water: Fill a large pot with water (enough to cover everything), then add the lemon halves, onion, Old Bay, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and optional crab boil seasoning. Bring to a boil.

  2. Boil the chicken: Add chicken wings and boil for about 15–20 minutes until just cooked through.

  3. Add veggies & sausage: Add potatoes and sausage. Cook for 10 minutes, then add corn. Cook another 5–10 minutes until potatoes are fork-tender.

  4. Butter sauce (optional but amazing!): In a separate pan, melt butter and mix with more Old Bay, garlic powder, paprika, and a splash of lemon juice. Pour over the pot or serve on the side for dipping.

  5. Serve: Drain the boil and lay everything out on a tray or large platter. Drizzle with butter sauce and serve with hot sauce or ranch on the side.

Note:
For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate in some of the seasoning for a few hours before boiling. You can also adjust the spice level by adding crushed red pepper, hot sauce, or using a spicier Cajun blend. Don’t forget to serve with extra butter sauce or ranch for dipping—it’s all about the sauce!
