Craving something tropical and delicious? This Hawaiian Fried Rice brings together the sweet and savory flavors of pineapple, ham, and rice for a dish that’s sure to brighten up your day! 🌞 Perfect for lunch, dinner, or even a tasty side dish! 🍽️ Let’s get cooking!
Ingredients:
2 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old rice)
1/2 cup diced ham
1/2 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned, drained)
1/4 cup frozen peas and carrots
2 eggs, beaten
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup green onions, chopped
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the rice: If you’re using freshly cooked rice, spread it out on a baking sheet to cool for about 10-15 minutes to avoid it being too sticky.
Scramble the eggs: In a large pan or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat. Pour in the beaten eggs and scramble until fully cooked. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Cook the vegetables: In the same pan, add the remaining sesame oil. Sauté garlic, peas, and carrots for 2-3 minutes until softened.
Add the rice and ham: Add the rice to the pan, breaking up any clumps. Stir in the diced ham and pineapple chunks. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
Season: Add soy sauce, and stir well to combine. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.
Finish: Stir in the scrambled eggs and green onions. Give everything one final mix.
Serve: Enjoy your Hawaiian Fried Rice hot, and optionally garnish with extra green onions or a drizzle of soy sauce!
Note:
For an even more authentic taste, try using cold, day-old rice—it’s the key to getting that perfect fried rice texture! You can also customize this dish by adding shrimp, chicken, or more veggies based on your preference. 🥕🍤🌽 Enjoy your tropical twist on fried rice!
