Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars

Indulge in these Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars, a delightful combination of crispy, chewy, and chocolatey layers!

Ingredients

Crunch Layer:

  • 3 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup crushed pretzels (optional for extra texture)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Caramel Layer:

  • 1 cup caramel candies (or homemade caramel)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

Chocolate Layer:

  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or butter

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Crunch Base

  1. Line a square 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup, stirring continuously until well combined. Let the mixture boil gently for about 2 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Pour this mixture over the crispy rice cereal and crushed pretzels, ensuring even coating.
  5. Press the mixture into the lined pan and set aside to cool.

Step 2: Make the Caramel Layer

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the caramel candies and heavy cream in 20-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth and fully melted.
  2. Spread the caramel evenly over the cooled crunch layer and let it sit for 10–15 minutes to firm up.

 

Step 3: Add the Chocolate Topping

  1. Microwave the chocolate chips with coconut oil (or butter) in short bursts, stirring until completely melted and silky.
  2. Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer, smoothing it out evenly.
  3. Allow the bars to set at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes until firm.

Step 4: Slice & Store

  1. Once the chocolate has hardened, cut the mixture into bars.
  2. Keep them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
