Fried fish fillet recipe

Here’s a recipe for fried fish fillets:

Ingredients:

  • Fish fillets (such as cod, tilapia, or haddock)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a spicy kick)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Tartar sauce or your preferred dipping sauce

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Cut the fillets into smaller, manageable pieces if desired.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix the dry ingredients well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Make sure the oil is hot enough for frying.
  5. Dip each fish fillet into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Then coat the fillet in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure an even coating.

  1. Carefully place the coated fish fillets into the hot oil, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the fillets turn golden brown and crispy. Adjust the cooking time based on the thickness of the fillets.
  2. Once the fish fillets are cooked, transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  3. Serve the fried fish fillets immediately with lemon wedges and your preferred dipping sauce, such as tartar sauce. You can also pair them with sides like french fries, coleslaw, or a fresh salad.

Enjoy your homemade fried fish fillets!
