Egg Roll in a Bowl

Here’s a recipe for Egg Roll in a Bowl:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground pork or chicken
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 4 cups coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground pork or chicken to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up into crumbles with a spatula or spoon.
  3. Add the minced garlic, sliced onion, and grated ginger to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the onions are softened and the mixture is fragrant.
  4. Add the coleslaw mix to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the cabbage is slightly wilted.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.

  1. Pour the sauce mixture over the ingredients in the skillet and stir to combine. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to blend together.
  2. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  3. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions.
  4. Serve the Egg Roll in a Bowl hot and enjoy!
