My favorite banana bread recipe

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for banana bread, one of my personal favorites:

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas using a fork or potato masher until smooth.
  3. Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
  4. Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Stir until everything is well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as it can make the bread dense.
  7. If desired, fold in the chopped nuts. Walnuts or pecans work well with banana bread.

  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The baking time may vary, so keep an eye on it after the 50-minute mark.
  3. Once done, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. Slice the cooled banana bread and serve. It’s delicious as is, or you can spread some butter or cream cheese on top if you like.

Enjoy your homemade banana bread!
