Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for banana bread, one of my personal favorites:
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas using a fork or potato masher until smooth.
- Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
- Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Stir until everything is well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as it can make the bread dense.
- If desired, fold in the chopped nuts. Walnuts or pecans work well with banana bread.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The baking time may vary, so keep an eye on it after the 50-minute mark.
- Once done, remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice the cooled banana bread and serve. It’s delicious as is, or you can spread some butter or cream cheese on top if you like.
Enjoy your homemade banana bread!
