Smoked Sausage and Potato Bake

Here’s a recipe for Smoked Sausage and Potato Bake:


  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 4 cups potatoes, peeled and diced into cubes
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a large baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage rounds and cook until they start to brown, about 5 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the onions, garlic, and bell pepper. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables soften.
  4. Add the diced potatoes to the skillet and season with paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the potatoes and vegetables with the seasoning.
  5. Cook the potatoes for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to brown and become slightly tender.
  6. Transfer the potato and vegetable mixture to the greased baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
  7. Arrange the cooked sausage rounds on top of the potato mixture.

  1. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the sausage and potatoes.
  2. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven.
  3. Bake for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the potatoes are fully cooked and golden brown.
  4. Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
