Sure! Here’s a recipe for Slow Cooker Beef Tips:

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds (900g) beef stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well. Add the beef stew meat to the bowl and toss until the meat is coated with the flour mixture.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Working in batches, add the coated beef stew meat to the skillet and brown it on all sides. This step helps to seal in the flavors and adds color to the meat. Transfer the browned meat to the slow cooker.
  3. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent and the garlic is fragrant.
  4. Pour the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, tomato paste, and brown sugar into the skillet. Stir well, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  1. Pour the sauce over the beef in the slow cooker. Stir to coat the meat evenly.
  2. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or on high heat for 3-4 hours. The beef should become tender and flavorful.
  3. If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Allow the sauce to thicken.
  4. Serve the Slow Cooker Beef Tips over cooked rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions, if desired.
