Sure! Here’s a recipe for Cheesy Asparagus Casserole:

  • 1 lb (450g) asparagus spears, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add the asparagus spears and cook for 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender. Drain the asparagus and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk together to form a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the roux is lightly golden.
  4. Gradually pour in the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue to cook and stir until the mixture thickens and comes to a simmer.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and add the shredded cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheeses have melted and the sauce is smooth.

  1. Stir in the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Taste and adjust the seasonings if needed.
  2. Place the cooked asparagus spears in the prepared baking dish. Pour the cheese sauce over the asparagus, making sure to coat them evenly.
  3. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs over the top of the casserole.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
  5. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
