Hummingbird Bread

Hummingbird Bread is a delicious and moist bread that is packed with bananas, pineapples, pecans, and a touch of cinnamon. Here’s a recipe to make your own Hummingbird Bread:


  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 4 medium bananas)
  • 1 can (8 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 cup chopped pecans


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9×5 inch loaf pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another mixing bowl, beat the eggs, oil, and vanilla extract together until well combined.
  4. Stir in the mashed bananas and crushed pineapple into the egg mixture until well mixed.

  1. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  2. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pans.
  3. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing and cooling completely on a wire rack.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

Optional: You can also top the bread with cream cheese frosting or a dusting of powdered sugar for extra sweetness.
