Walking Taco Bake

Walking Taco Bake is a delicious and easy-to-make recipe that combines the flavors of a classic taco with the convenience of a casserole. Here’s how to prepare it:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 bag (9 oz) corn chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional toppings: diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, sour cream, guacamole

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it’s browned and crumbled. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Add the taco seasoning to the skillet and stir well to coat the beef.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes with green chilies, tomato sauce, and black beans to the skillet. Stir to combine.

  1. Layer half of the corn chips in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spoon the beef mixture over the corn chips, spreading it evenly.
  3. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
  4. Add another layer of corn chips on top of the cheese.
  5. Spoon the remaining beef mixture over the second layer of corn chips.

  1. Top with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese.
  2. Bake the Walking Taco Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  3. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
  4. Serve the Walking Taco Bake with your favorite toppings, such as diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, sour cream, or guacamole.
