Pancakes for breakfast

Pancakes are a delicious and easy breakfast dish that can be made in many different ways. Here’s a simple recipe to make fluffy pancakes:


  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Butter or cooking spray, for greasing the pan


  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The batter should be lumpy and thick.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Once hot, grease the surface with a small amount of butter or cooking spray.

  1. Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup, pour the pancake batter onto the skillet or griddle. Cook until the edges start to look set and the surface is bubbly, then flip the pancake and cook until the other side is golden brown.
  2. Repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the skillet or griddle as needed.
  3. Serve hot with your favorite toppings such as butter, syrup, berries, whipped cream, or chocolate chips.
