CREAMY BAKED MAC AND CHEESE

Creamy Baked Mac and Cheese is a delicious and comforting dish that’s perfect for any occasion. Here’s a recipe that serves 6-8 people:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Cook the macaroni according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk constantly for 2-3 minutes, until the mixture is smooth and bubbly.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk and cream, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Continue to cook for 5-7 minutes, until the mixture has thickened.
  5. Stir in the salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Add the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, and stir until they have melted and the sauce is smooth.

  1. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until it is well coated. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and chopped parsley. Sprinkle the mixture over the top of the mac and cheese.
  3. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving.
