Chocolate cake

Here’s a simple recipe for a delicious chocolate cake:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch (23cm) round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Use a whisk or a fork to mix well and get rid of any lumps.
  3. Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix everything together with a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes, until well combined.

  1. Reduce the speed to low and carefully pour in the boiling water. Beat until just combined. The batter will be very thin and liquid, which is normal.
  2. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  4. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then remove the cakes from the pans and transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

You can then frost and decorate the cake as desired, using your favorite frosting or ganache recipe. Enjoy your delicious chocolate cake!
