Here’s a simple recipe for classic Mac and Cheese:
Ingredients:
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour and whisk constantly for 1-2 minutes until the mixture turns golden.
- Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
- Cook the mixture for 5-7 minutes, or until it thickens and starts to bubble.
- Add the shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper to the mixture. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well combined.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Note: You can also bake the mac and cheese for a crispy, golden top. Simply transfer the mixture to a baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and a little extra cheese, and bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes.
