Slow Cooker Honey Soy Chicken

Here’s a recipe for Slow Cooker Honey Soy Chicken:


  • 1 1/2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Optional: chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish


  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, dried basil, dried oregano, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Place the chicken thighs in the slow cooker, then pour the honey soy sauce mixture over the chicken.
  3. Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 2-3 hours, or on low for 4-6 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water until smooth. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the slow cooker and cook on high for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  2. Serve the chicken hot with the thickened sauce spooned over the top. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
